  • AH YAT ABALONE SEAFOOD RESTAURANT CELEBRATES FIRST CHINESE NEW YEAR IN BALI WITH FOOD SHOWER

JIMBARAN - BALI, 31 January 2014 – The sky was the limit when the first Ah Yat Abalone Seafood Restaurant in Bali tossed a plate of food into the air, as part of the ancient ritual of Yee Sang plate tossing to welcome the Chinese New Year. The celebration was a particularly auspicious occasion for Ah Yat, following its launch in Bali last November at the newly opened 5 star resort in Bali, RIMBA Jimbaran, the sister hotel of the award-winning AYANA Resort and Spa.

Ah Yat’s Bali Chef, Cheung Kin Kau, brings more than 20 years’ experience to his role at Ah Yat’s flagship Bali restaurant, which adds to the more than 25 Ah Yat restaurants Asia-wide, from Shanghai and Beijing to Jakarta, Singapore and Bangkok. The Ah Yat brand is named after the Hong Kong-based founder-chef, Yeung Koon Yat, also known as “The Abalone King”, Chef Yat is a member of Le Club des Chefs des Chefs, the world’s most exclusive gastronomic society, a Knight of the order of the Agriculture Merite, and an Honorary Chinese Cuisine Euro Toques President of Asia.

Ah Yat’s Bali launch highlights the world-class dining concepts at RIMBA, the 282-room hotel in Jimbaran Bali named after the Indonesian word for ‘forest’ due to its setting on 8 hectares of gardens and tree-lined tracks within AYANA Resort and Spa. Complementing RIMBA’s eco-chic design, Ah Yat caters for up to 300 guests seated and offers 10 stylish private dining rooms, making it the perfect choice for wedding receptions, private parties and corporate functions in Bali.

At Ah Yat, adventurous diners may enjoy the Birds’ Nest and or the Abalone while dim sum lovers may opt for Weekend Yum Cha* with a selection of 50 different types of dim sum from Rp168,000++ available until 30 June 2014. The Chinese New Year menu is available until 14 February 2014 at Rp1,680,000++/per person.
